How to use Cella

How much does Cella cost?
Artist and gallery Pro workspace tools are free during early access. Use them to manage your work, organize your records, and help shape Cella. Public records and personal accounts are free. Pricing will be announced later. No card is needed to join early access, and joining does not enroll you in a paid subscription.
Will early members receive benefits later?
The people who join Cella early will be recognized as it grows. Early members will receive grandfathered benefits when paid plans launch. We'll share the exact benefits before that happens.
Is Gallery DeFi a customer?
Gallery DeFi at 2200 Evanston Ave in Dallas is the working test site for gallery tools. It is not presented as an independent paying customer or a paid case study.
What is Lens?
Take or upload a photo to look for a match among recorded works. Lens does not prove you were there.
What is a certificate?
A record can exist without a certificate. A Cella certificate covers only the scope printed on that certificate. A certificate does not automatically establish ownership, value, or every statement on a record. Certificate availability depends on the record and its review status.
What do the trust labels mean?
Open claim means details still need supporting evidence. Source-backed means supporting material is linked. Artist-confirmed concerns the artist’s authorship confirmation. Cella verified concerns Cella’s review. Certificate refers to its printed scope. Uncertain or disputed flags a claim that needs attention. One label does not automatically establish another. Open the label on a record for its specific scope.
What happens when an artwork disappears?
The record can remain public after removal or paint-over. Dated photographs, sources, and condition reports preserve what was recorded. Later reports add to the history rather than rewriting earlier entries. EXIF and camera dates are not independently verified.
What is a passport?
It is the free personal account that holds your saves, visits, and contributions. It is not a paid object or proof of ownership.
What can I do with Cella?
Find artwork and galleries on the map, learn about the artists, and save works you want to return to. Artists, galleries, and cultural organizations also have workspaces for managing their work.
Where should I start?
Open the map, search for a city or place, and select an artwork. Its page shows the available photo, artist, location, and history. Create an account when you want to contribute or use a workspace.
Do I need to own art to be a collector?
No. In Cella, Collector is for anyone who wants to find art, save favorite works, record visits, or help document what they see.
Which workspace should I choose?
Start as a Collector to save art and keep your own records. Artist is for your work and profile, Gallery for inventory and exhibitions, and Curator for projects and selections. City, Institution, Festival, and Sponsor access is assigned. Institution and Festival tools are in beta. Request access to confirm what your team can use.
How can I share art with someone?
Open a public artwork page and share its link. The recipient can see the available image, artist credit, location, and history without creating an account. Share the public artwork page, not a private workspace or collection link.
What is an artwork record?
It is the page for an artwork, bringing together its available photo, artist, location, dates, and history. Status labels tell you whether information has been reviewed or still needs attention.
Is saving an artwork the same as recording a visit?
No. Saving an artwork keeps a link to it. Recording a visit is a separate action. Saving alone does not confirm that you were there.
Do I have to enable my location or camera?
You can browse the map by searching for a place. Location is used for features such as nearby results and visit checks. Lens uses your camera or an uploaded photo to look for a matching artwork. Availability depends on your device.
Who can add artwork or correct a record?
Artists and galleries can add artwork through their workspaces. Signed-in participants can submit photos or corrections where a contribution action is available. A submitted change is reviewed before it becomes verified information.
What happens after I submit a photo or correction?
Check the confirmation for its status. Submitted for review means it is waiting for a decision. Saved on this device means it remains in this browser. These are different from an approved contribution.
How do I know whether information has changed?
Check the status, dates, and history shown on the artwork page. Where correction history is available, it shows recorded changes. A pending correction has not yet been accepted as verified information.
Can I use Cella outside Dallas?
Yes. The map covers places around the world. The amount of artwork and detail varies by location. Search for your city to see what has been recorded there.
How does Gallery DeFi relate to Cella?
Gallery DeFi is a gallery at 2200 Evanston Ave in Dallas. It is using Cella as a working test site for gallery tools. Cella is the wider service for artwork, artists, galleries, and cultural places. They are separate products.
Why is a tool marked beta or unavailable?
Beta means the tool is still being developed and may have limited functions. Unavailable means the requested information could not be loaded. Use Retry where it is offered; an unavailable section does not mean your records are empty.
